The Construction Backlog Indicator (CBI) tracks the volume of unfinished works that needs to be done by commercial and industrial contractors in the near future. CBI is released quarterly by the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC) , and indicates average months of outstanding work for the U.S. commercial and institutional, industrial, and infrastructure construction industries. The graph above shows the trend of construction backlog indicator, normalized based on the reference point of December 2013.
